Jharigaon: Students of this locality knew about trains only through textbooks and photographs. They have never experienced a ‘live’ train. But now an anganwadi has been built here which resembles a railway coach.
It has been done to draw the kids of Tutiguda village in the Dangariguda gram panchayat of Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district. It has attracted huge attention with the students and children of the locality flocking the ‘Tutiguda Express’ to explore the construction.
Similarly people living near Tudiguda are also visiting the train compartment-shaped anganwadi to have a look. It has also become a selfie point for the visitors. Some of them stated that since they have only seen trains on TV, this was an opportunity for them to have a feel of what a passenger coach looks like.
Child development project officer (CDPO) R Basanti Panda said that it is the first anganwadi in the district which has been built modelled on a train coach. She said such ideas are necessary to attract kids to the centre.
