Baripada: The BJD unit here is on its toes as Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is visiting Baripada Wednesday to lay the foundation stones for some projects and to inaugurate some others. Party observer Arun Sahu is supervising the preparations for the CM’s visit.
The meeting is being organised by Mission Shakti. The CM will address members of women self-help groups. MLAs and local BJD leaders have been holding meetings to make the Chief Minister’s programme being held at the Chhau Ground a success.
The CM’s meeting is important for the party as general elections are only a few months away. The meeting comes a few days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally here. JMM leader Sibu Soren also held a meeting here recently.
The CM is laying foundation stones for the Rs 85.30 lakh piped water supply project in Badagudia, the Rs 106.47 lakh piped water supply project in Dhatika, the Rs 3.45 crore Balidiha irrigation project and the Rs 5.58 crore riverbank project extending from Raidiha to Kusadiha.
The CM will inaugurate the Rs 64.22 lakh drinking water project in Shuliapada, the Rs 79.09 lakh drinking water project in Morada, the Rs 77.74 lakh drinking water project in Shyamkhunta, the Rs 2 crore panchayat resources building in Baripada, the Rs 836.10 lakh bridge across river Sona, the Rs 924.22 lakh bridge across the river Jabhari and the Rs 1851.66 lakh bridge across the river Budhabalanga.
