Bhubaneswar: With elections coming closer, BJP national president Amit Shah will pay another round of visit to the state February 3 to attend the national convention of party’s ST Morcha at Puri.
Announcing Shah’s visit here Wednesday, BJP ST Morcha president Ramvichar Netam said the Adivasi Mahasamavesh, which would be held February 2 and 3, would be addressed by Shah.
While a meeting of the office bearers of BJP ST Morcha will be held February 1 evening, the convention will be held February 2. The ‘Adivasi Adhikar Rally’ will be addressed by Shah, he added.
Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu and deputy CM of Tripura Jishnu Deb Burman will attend the meet.
He said all Union women ministers, MPs, State Mahila Morcha presidents and secretaries will attend the executive committee meeting. Atrocities and violence against women will be the major agenda of the national convention, she added.
More than 5,000 prominent tribal leaders and ministers and MLAs belonging to the Scheduled Tribes from different parts of the country will take part in the Mahasamavesh. Over one lakh tribals from across Odisha will participate in the rally, he added.
