Berhampur: A two-month old girl, who sustained critical injuries after hot water spilled on her body, succumbed at the MKCG Medical College and Hospital during treatment here Friday night.
The deceased was identified as the two-month old daughter of Ranjan Tangaranga in Bindra village under Chandrapur police limits in Rayagada district.
The incident occurred when water being boiled on a chullah accidentally spilled over the baby and rendered her critical January 26.
Family members first admitted her to the local hospital and later shifted her to MKCG Medical College and Hospital after doctors administered her primary treatment.
Baidyanathpur police registered a case and handed over the body to her family members after post-mortem, IIC Jaikrushna Patnaik said.
