Bhubaneswar: BJD leader Arun Sahoo during his speech on the Vote on Account in the Assembly, Friday, mocked the journalists and ‘experts’ discussing governance issues in television debates.
He termed many of these panelists appearing on TV debates as “self-proclaimed experts” and said that these so called experts who hardly had been to villages unlike politicians come to the TV studios with loads of powder on their faces to talk about governance issues.
“I often come across TV debates in the local media which discuss governance issues. Many of these self-proclaimed experts who come to the shows with their powder-laden faces hardly know about the ground reality. Many of them hardly visit the villages as we do,” he told the House.
Sahoo also hit out at the Centre for taking credit for schemes in which the states also have significant contribution. He asked the Centre through the Assembly as to why it claims the credit for schemes like Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana and others where the states have good sharing of funds.
