BHUBANESWAR: A five-day Live Art Fest concluded at Urban Micro Business Centre here Saturday. A delegation of six foreign students visited the event for their study tour.
During the visit, they learnt live painting and smoke art from famous artist Satyanarayan Moharana. UMBC’S director Subrat Das, who organised the artist camp, said, “Every year, we conduct such events here to help foreigners learn from our artists like Satyanarayan. These students will stay here for 10 days and learn sand art.”
Tuya Gombo Suren from Daiekin University said, “Odisha is the land of great cultural history. I am spell bounded by the art forms that is being taught to us. The use of vibrant colours is truly mesmerizing. I am going to learn as much as possible from Guru Satyanarayan who is teaching us Live pantings, smoke art and sand art.”
Guru Satyanarayan said, ‘Smoke art is one of those genres which are an acquired taste. It’s the purest and simplest interpretation of life and its surroundings. I am teaching not only these delegates but children of slum areas in Kargil who can’t afford art classes. Sooner or later, these young talents will exhibit their work on the national platform.”
