Sambalpur: A woman was allegedly killed by her brother-in-law over a family feud at Kishanpada under Kuchinda block in Sambalpur district Sunday night.
The deceased was identified as Sukdei Kisan, 60, while the accused was Ram Kisan. A rift prevailed between Ram and Sukdei over a land dispute. Things took an ugly turn after a fight erupted between the two Sunday evening. In a rage, the accused hacked the woman to death with an axe.
Angry villagers overpowered the accused and alerted the police. A case was registered and the body was sent for autopsy, while a probe was on, police said.
