Bhubaneswar: The state government Wednesday gave a go ahead to the private industrial estate of Jindal Stainless Ltd (JSL) near Kalinganagar.
A high-level panel headed by Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi has given green signal to the projects aimed at creating employment opportunities for nearly 19,000 people. Padhi directed the officials concerned to expedite the process for early grounding of the project.
Chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) of Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO) Sanjay Singh said the downstream cluster will manufacture and supply of stainless steel products including construction materials, architectural designs, pipes, industrial goods, lifestyle consumables, kitchen wares etc.
A special purpose vehicle has already been formed and about 300 acre land has been identified to execute the project. The estate will get 2.54 million litre per day (MLD) from Bramhani river while power requirement (40.58 MW) will be met both from the CPP of JSL and NESCO grid, sources said.
The industrial estate will be set up with an investment of Rs 1,532 crore with employment potential of around 19,000 persons.
As per preliminary estimates, around Rs 168 crore will be invested for infrastructural development and creation of common facility centres. JSL will be the anchor tenant.
The estate will be developed in two phases. Chief Secretary directed to complete the first phase in three years of land allotment.
