Kalahandi/Dhenkanal: In two shocking incidents in Kalahandi district, two newly-married women were found hanging under mysterious circumstances, Tuesday.
While no exact reason of their deaths have been known, it is suspected, the two were killed and later hanged to show it as cases of suicide. Police have seized the bodies and sent it for autopsy while probes are on.
In the first incident in Kalahandi district, a newly-wed woman was found hanging from the ceiling of a bedroom in Temara village under Koksara police limits here today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Tara, who had tied the knot with one Samant March 3. She was spotted hanging and cops immediately reached the spot to recover the body for post-mortem. While locals suspect that she was murdered by her in-laws, police is currently investigating into the matter.
In yet another similar incident in the same district, a woman was found hanging from a tree in Parla road under Dharmagarh block. The deceased has been identified as Priya Souri.
Reportedly, she had tied the knot with one Dhaniram, a year ago. While theirs was a love marriage, cops are investigating into the case to find out whether it is a murder or a suicide.
In a separate incident in Dhenkanal, the body of an unidentified man was found hanging from a tree in Barihapur area under Parjanga police limits. Prima facie investigation reveals that the man has been dead since 4-5 days.
