Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) chief Naveen Patnaik wished Wednesday for the speedy recovery of Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama who has been admitted to a hospital in New Delhi with chest infection.
Patnaik conveyed his best wishes and sincere prayers on behalf of the people of Odisha, stating that ‘the world needs him’.
“Convey my best wishes and sincere prayers on behalf of the people of #Odisha for the @Dalai Lama’s speedy recovery & a long life. Concerned that he has been hospitalised. The world needs him,” Patnaik tweeted.
Doctors, however, have said that the condition of the 83-year-old Dalai Lama is stable. He will however, kept in observation for a few more days.
Earlier, Ngodup Tsering, the Buddhist monk’s representative had said that Dalai Lama flew to New Delhi early Tuesday for a doctor’s visit at Max hospital after he experienced a ‘light cough’.
“The doctor said there’s nothing to worry about. It’s not that serious,” Tsering said, without confirming whether the Dalai Lama had been admitted for hospital treatment. “He’s taking a few days’ rest.”
