BHUBANESWAR: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Surendra Kumar here said that as many as 57 per cent voters have exercised their franchisee till 3.30 pm in the first phase polls being conducted in the state.
According to reports, there was a zero voter turnout in booth No. 6 and in booth No. 8 at Temurupali of Mathili block in Malkangiri district.
While EVM glitches were noticed at few places, they were repaired within 40 minutes of the occurrence and the voting took place, said CEO Kumar.
Voting, so far, has been by and large peaceful and progressing smoothly in rest of the state.
Four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats under them are going for polls in the first phase of general elections today.
The votes will be counted on May 23 and result will be announced the same day.
