Cuttack: Politicians are fighting tooth and nail to get an edge over their adversaries and emerge victorious in their constituencies. Many candidates have come with new strategies to woo voters. They range from having food in the houses of the poor to touching the feet of elders.
In Cuttack, former Director General of Police Prakash Mishra is campaigning door-to-door on a bicycle. Carrying saffron flags and posters, this BJP candidate contesting in the Cuttack LS seat is trying to reach everyone personally. He is followed by slogan shouting supporters in the scorching sun.
“I am trying to reach all houses. In that way, I will be able to interact with all my brothers and sisters in Cuttack. I am telling people about our manifesto and they are telling me their problems,” Prakash Mishra said.
Once a figure radiating authority, Mishra is now trying his best to portray himself a commoner. As the former DGP pedals through the narrow lanes of the silver city, everyone is curious to know whether his adversaries will come up with something to match his tactics.
