BHUBANESWAR: Great Indian scientist and father of Green Revolution in India M S Swaminathan appreciated an Odia student Sarthak Pradhan for his efforts to popularise science in the public sector.
A final year BSc student of Ravenshaw University, Pradhan has been writing about Indian scientists and their incredible research work regularly in an Odia newspaper. From Aryabhatta to C V Raman, he has written about the works of almost every Indian scientist.
Interacting with Orissa Post, Sarthak said, “Many people are unaware of the scientific excellence that Indian scientists have achieved. Most of the theories were discovered by Indians. But due to lack of proper recognition, they are hidden from the world. My motto is to create self-reliance among the readers about our scientists and their research excellence.”
Apart from this, he has presented the success stories of a no of Odia scientists as well. A resident of Forest Park, Bhubaneswar, Sarthak has been feted with Ruchi Pratibha Puraskar, Chhatra Gauraba Sanman, Shree Jagannath Darshan Samman, Nalco Gyanalok Award, CM’s Gold Medal for topper in matriculation examination and Kalam Scholarship Award among others.
Soon, he will be the youngest one in the state to have his own ‘Book of Articles’. A feature columnist in various Odia newspapers, Sarthak’s parents Birat Keshari Pradhan (currently a school teacher) and mother Snehalata Pradhan (homemaker) are proud of his iconic achievements.
