Bhubaneswar: A day after the National Crisis Management Committee (NCMC) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) ordered advance release of financial assistance of Rs340.87 crore to Odisha State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan Wednesday assured that the Union Government will provide all possible support to the state to face cyclone ‘FANI’.
After meeting Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha Wednesday to discuss about the cyclone which is expected to make landfall in Odisha by Friday evening, he said that the Union Government will provide all possible support to the state during this time of crisis. The support would include man, machine and finance.
Apart from the Rs340 crore as emergency relief, he also assured to get the state two helicopters it needs for relief and rescue operations.
These apart, NDRF teams, as needed, will also be provided to the state, he promised.
It may be mentioned here that the state government had sought two helicopters and additional NDRF teams to face the cyclone.
