Bhadrak, June 24: An elderly visually impaired woman, who was rescued recently here, returned to her village Wednesday after remaining missing for 14 years. She was identified as Phula Dehuri, the wife of later Narina Dehuri, a resident of Kalyaninagar under Mdahupatana police limits in Cuttack.
A group of social activists like Trilochan Panda, Pratima Ghadei and Sunarani Panda rescued the elderly woman from an abandoned rest shed at Barampur Chhak along the Bhadrak-Anandapur road. Wednesday, social activists and Kadabranga sarpanch Bhagirathi Sethi with help of the district administration took the helpless woman to her house in Cuttack in a vehicle.
Her brothers Niranjan and Dillip Dehuri said when she remained missing, they had filed a complaint at police station.
The district administration came out for her help after a report about the rescue of the elderly woman was published in Oriya daily ‘Dharitri’.
