London, June 30: Force India’s Formula 1 (F1) driver Sergio Perez said Tuesday that the fast and flowing corners of the Silverstone track of the British Grand Prix, will make the race a great fun and he will look for points. The British GP comes off this weekend.
Perez finished the June 21 Austrian Grand Prix in ninth spot, while his team partner Nico Hulkenberg impressed finishing way ahead in sixth spot.
“I really like the Silverstone track, with its fast and flowing corners, which are great fun to drive. There is a lot of history and you feel there is something special from the moment you arrive at the circuit. I have always performed well here in the early part of my career and I would love to pick up some points this weekend,” Perez said in a release. Perez is in the 12th spot in the drivers’ championship while compatriot Hulkenberg is placed ninth. Lewis Hamilton leads the pack with 169 points.
Perez admitted that the last two races were difficult for him but said with the arrival of the upgrade package in Silverstone, it’s going to be an important and busy weekend for the team.
“The last two races have been a bit difficult for me, but we still managed to come away with points in Austria and it was a great performance by the team. With the arrival of our upgrade package in Silverstone, it’s going to be an important and busy weekend for the team as we try to get all the new parts working together in the car,” he pointed out.
