Baripada: Scarcity of doctors, vacant supporting staff positions and lack of infrastructure have affected healthcare services in Pandit Raghunath Murmu (PRM) Medical College and Hospital in Baripada town of Mayurbhanj district, district unit of Odisha Medical Employees Association has alleged.
The association, in a meeting held recently, demanded fulfillment of 500 vacant seats of class-IV employees and 46 seats of attendants.
These apart, they demanded vacant posts of doctors, pharmacists, nurses, radiographers, female and male wellness workers to be filled at the earliest.
Further, the association members demanded regularisation of class-IV employees who have been working at the institute for more than six years. Vice president of the association Shyam Sunder Deo said that the performance of these workers get affected since they do not have a duty room yet.
Highlighting that these issues are nothing new and had earlier been discussed with the CDMO in a meeting held back July 23, the association warned that they would hold demonstrations in front of CDMO office if their demands are not met.
