Berhampur: Acting on a tip-off, Railway Protection Force (RPF) jawans raided the Bhubaneswar-Mumbai Konark Express at Berhampur railway station and arrested a train coach attendant on the charge of illegally selling liquor to passengers Saturday evening.
The accused was identified as Rampal Patia, 41, of Bauribandh village in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. He was arrested after he was caught illegally selling liquor to passengers in coach B-3 when the express train was on platform-2 of the railway station.
Twelve liquor bottles were seized from his possession. Later, RPF jawans handed him over to the Government Railway Police (GRP). A case was registered in this connection and the accused produced in a court, GRP IIC Sukant Bhoi said.
