Bhubaneswar: BJP leader and Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha MP Aparajita Sarangi Tuesday urged the state government to consider fixing of deadlines for completion of its projects.
Addressing a presser here, the BJP leader took a dig at the state government for its alleged failure in keeping its promises it had been making at different editions of ‘Make in Odisha’ conclaves. She alleged that most of the promises of the government remained on paper only.
She said, “I have seen two editions of ‘Make in Odisha’ and know how much investments have come to the state. There were tall talks on carnival and multiplexes in each district. What happened to these promises?”
She also said, “People need pace and work, a thing which I had been reiterating for long. I want to appeal (to state) to make less promises and do more work. I demand that all those projects which are being undertaken by the state should have fixed timelines.” A strong monitoring of compliance of those timelines should also be enforced, she added.
The MP also patted the back of her party for abrogating Article 370 and Article 35A from the Indian Constitution. She said, “It was a rectification of a historical mistake. Removal of Article 370 and Article 35A will pave way for the unification of Jammu and Kashmir with India. Earlier, most of the laws were applicable to India but not in Kashmir.”
She said that there were two different constitutions for the same country which has now been done away with. “This has now led to the solution of many of the problems existing there. The Article was also against the women of the state. Our people were deprived of buying land there and also of employment.”
