Mumbai: Vidya Balan, who recently appeared in the film ‘Mission Mangal’, is also going to make her web series debut very soon in a show directed by ‘Lunchbox’ and ‘Photograph’ director Ritesh Batra.
According to sources, this web series will be based on the book ‘Indira: India’s Most Powerful Prime Minister’ written by Sagarika Ghosh on the life of Indira Gandhi.
Vidya has talked to the media many times about this web series and work on the show is already underway.
During the promotion of ‘Mission Mangal’ Vidya said, “I am trying to do a web series, which is based on the life of Indira Gandhi. I feel doing a web series involves a lot of work. A lot of people associate themselves with it as compared to making a film. So, it takes a lot of time. But when I will do it, I will make sure that it turns out really well.”
Vidya has bought the rights to Sagarika’s book.
It is still unclear who makes up the rest of the cast therefore it is very likely that Vidya is in line to essay the role of Indira Gandhi.
The show is being produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
