London: British-based business magnate and philanthropist Swraj Paul Saturday mourned the death of former Union minister Arun Jaitley, calling him a “great human being and a principled barrister.”
Jaitley, 66, died earlier in the day at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) where he was undergoing treatment for several weeks.
“Shocked and sad to learn about the death of Arun Jaitley. He was a great human being, a very principled barrister and a very principled politician. From family point of view he was a marvellous husband, marvellous father and a great friend. I always treated him like a son,” said Paul, 88, the chairman of Caparo Group of Industries.
“We have lost a great human being. We pray for his soul and our heart felt condolences to the family,” Paul said.
