Mumbai: Ranu Mondal’s life has changed overnight because of her talent. Ranu Mondal used to earn her livelihood singing at the Ranaghat railway station in suburban West Bengal. She did not even have a place to stay in.
After her video went viral, singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya offered her a song in his upcoming romantic comedy ‘Happy Hardy and Heer’. Ranu has finished recording of the song. The video of her recording has also been shared by Himesh Reshammiya on his social media account.
However, the news that is doing the rounds is how much Ranu got paid for the song. According to latest reports, Himesh offered approximately Rs 6-7 lakh for the song ‘Teri Meri Kahani’, but Ranu refused to accept the amount. However, Himesh forced her to take the money. He also said that no one can stop Ranu from becoming a superstar singer in Hindi film industry.
However, the authenticity of the amount is yet to be ascertained and there has been no confirmation from Ranu Mondal’s side. Ranu however, has said that she has got a second lease of life and will try to make the most out of it.
It is worth mentioning, Ranu came as a guest on Sony TV’s singing reality show ‘Superstar Singer‘, where she described her ordeal and how she sang on railway platforms to eke out a living for herself.
