Paradip: Local police Saturday morning recovered the decomposed body of a man, who appears to be a foreigner, from Hanuman temple beach near gate no-5 of Paradip port.
The police are yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased. They suspect it to be that of a foreign national, considering the appearance and colour.
According to a source, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) jawans deployed there noticed the body Saturday morning and immediately passed the information to the police.
The local cops recovered the body and sent it for autopsy. Registering an unnatural death case (Case No-3/19), they have launched an investigation into the incident.
Police suspect him to be a citizen of China or South Korea who most likely died two to three days ago, the source added. As the possibility of him being a sailor of a cargo ship cannot be ruled out, police have reached out to the Marine Police (Immigration) at Jatadhari estuary.
