Odyssey: The Odia Food Trails’, a unique initiative of food bloggers of the state, aims at popularising traditional Odia cuisines across all social media platforms
BHUBANESWAR: Food is an integral part of every human culture. Odia food culture is as diverse as Odisha. Traditional Odia foods give an exquisite vision of Odisha’s rich cultural heritage. To showcase this tradition and culture, food bloggers of Odyssey have initiated Odia Food Trails to take the state’s rich food heritage onto the global stage.
The Odyssey presented its breakfast special at a city hotel Tuesday to give people a taste of Odia food.
A member of the group Senorita Dash said, “The Odia food trails team projected various Odia breakfasts under the theme #breakfastwithodias where mudhi to malpua, bara ghuguni to dahibara & puri dalma to chuda upma and all sorts of special Odia breakfast from various regions of the state were posted on Instagram and Facebook by Odia food bloggers.”
Among all the posts, Bhukkadgabru’s ‘chaka pitha’ from Bolangir; the Bhojan stories’ ‘dahibara’ from Cuttack; Swetabiswal’s chuda santula; Mistivin’s Baripada famous mudhi-mixture-pickle combo; Foodishah’s South Odisha Special Upma; Jastronomy’s chuda kadamba, Badia Dalma of Chandanpur, Puri; Hungry medico’s malpua, and Dalailipika’s Berhampur Special Puri-Upma drew the attention of food lovers.
This initiative is the brainchild of Ankita Pati (mistivin), Senorita Dash (foodishah) and Subham Kumar (foodie0119), all well known food bloggers of the state. They have started it as an experiment, but got overwhelming contributions from food bloggers across the state.
“This trail will continue its delicious journey and at the next session we will come up with a new theme on Odia cuisine. This promotion is done by the extended support from social media page Discover Odisha,” said Ankita Pati.
One of the foodies Ritika Gosain said, “The world map will now find Odia delicacies and their amazing way of cooking which will definitely add a glorious page to this journey. In today’s polluted lifestyle, homemade food is the only way to survive.”
‘Odyssey: The Odia Food Trails’ will have a rich entry of various Odia sweets next Sunday.
