Bhubaneswar: President Ram Nath Kovind will visit Odisha on a two-day official programme starting September 27 during which he will attend several official programmes including one in Ganjam district.
According to a state government official, the President will land in Bhubaneswar September 27 evening. He will be hosted at the Raj Bhawan here for the night.
Sept 28 morning, he will leave for Berhampur to attend a programme at the Army Air Defence College at Golabandha in Ganjam district. The President will return to Bhubaneswar at 11:00am the same day. He is scheduled to return to New Delhi later on the day.
In view of the high profile visit, a high-level meeting was held at the DG Camp in Bhubaneswar Friday to review preparations such as aircraft, guard of honour, security arrangements, accommodation, carcade and transport arrangements, healthcare of the VVIP, uninterrupted power supply and barricading.
“Discussion was held with intelligence, CISF, airport authorities and other stakeholders on various security arrangements needed for the President’s tour. Security arrangements will be made as per the Blue Book guidelines,” police DG BK Sharma said.
IG of police operation, ADG coastal security, officials from the intelligence department, Ganjam SP along with several other top cops were also present in the meeting.
