Bhubaneswar: Reviewing the projects under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra Thursday asked the agencies concerned to submit the utilisation certificates (UCs) by end of October.
Mohapatra said the Centre would release second tranche of funds under the scheme if the UCs were submitted by next month.
The main objective of the meeting was to review the ongoing projects in agriculture and allied sectors, current status and plans for the upcoming projects.
Mohapatra reviewed each and every project meticulously and has instructed all the agencies for completion of the projects on time.
Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment secretary Saurabh Garg emphasized on speedy completion of the projects using the existing funds under RKVY to strengthen the agriculture sector in the state. He also asked the agencies to do geo-tagging of all the projects as it has been made mandatory under RKVY.
RKVY scheme was initiated in 2007 as an umbrella scheme for ensuring holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors by allowing states to prefer their own agriculture and allied sector development activities as per the district/state agriculture plan.
The scheme incentivises states to increase public investment in agriculture and allied sectors. Since the implementation of the scheme, 500 projects are already completed in Odisha while another 267 projects are under progress.
