Berhampur: Police Thursday arrested a science teacher of a government high school on charge of blackmailing a woman lecturer and making her obscene photographs viral on social media who incidentally was his student in school days.
The accused was identified as Priya Ranjan Mishra, a science teacher of a government high school.
He was arrested over a complaint lodged by the survivor at Gosaninuagaon police station, Wednesday. Mishra was produced in court from where he was remanded to judicial custody after his bail pleas rejected.
Police said, Mishra working as a teacher in a government high school was in one-sided love with one of his girl student. Later, the girl passed out from the high school and went on to become a lecturer in a college.
Mishra soon started blackmailing her in a fake name. The girl narrated her ordeal before Mishra and sought his help.
Mishra then clicked some photographs with the survivor on the pretext of helping her. Later, he prepared some obscene pictures out of the photographs and showed it her. He even forced him to marry him and garlanded her.
However, Mishra was enraged after he came to know about her marriage elsewhere this year.
He soon opened a fake Facebook account in the name of the girl and posted the obscene photographs. Later, he even made large posters from the obscene photographs and stuck them on the walls of the college where the survivor is currently serving as a lecturer. Left with no option, the girl lodged a complaint at the police station.
