Bhubaneswar: Now, ministers, MLAs and government officers cannot make last-minute attempt and put pressure on officials to clear files for a foreign trip because the Centre has decided not to clear such files anymore.
Now, the state government has to submit the proposals of foreign trips of ministers, MLAs and officers to Union government at least three weeks ahead of the scheduled tour. The Department of Economics Affairs (DEA) under Ministry of Finance has intimated Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy about the new norms.
Currently, the ministers and lawmakers making last-minute attempt to get required political clearance for visiting a foreign country creates problems for the officials in government of India. Therefore, the Centre has revised the norms, officials sources said.
“Unless all procedural requirements are made and proposals are submitted to the DEA at least three weeks in advance, it would be difficult to clear the proposals in advance,” the DEA said in its letter.
