In a bizarre incident, a 24-year-old youth married an 81-year-old woman in Ukraine. The man named Alexander Kondratyuk married his cousin’s 81-year-old grandmother.
The reason for his step will leave you amazed. Sources said the boy did this to avoid being enlisted in the army. This action remains a matter of discussion on social media and the boy is also being criticised.
In Ukraine, it is mandatory for every person between 18 and 26 years to serve in the army. Alexander, a resident of Vinnitsa city, also received a letter from the army in this regard in 2017. Every youth is required to undergo military service. However, Alexander decided not to go for this service and took advantage of the rules.
According to the rules, men who are taking care of elderly people will get holiday and didn’t need to join the army. Alexander thought of taking advantage of this rule and proposed marriage to his cousin’s grandmother, Zinaida. Surprising everyone, he even convinced them. Now everyone is speculating that Alexander will divorce Zinaida Illarionovna as soon as he turns 26 years old.
The matter first came to light in the year 2018 when a petition was filed in the court of the Military Commissioner Office to cancel the marriage. According to the military, the documents Alexander showed are fake, but upon investigation, it was found that the couple indeed married in a nearby village.
So, logically Alexander is currently married to a disabled person, and unless something happens before he turns 27, he is exempted from military service.
