Bolangir: A police ASI attached to Saintala police station in Bolangir district landed in trouble as he allegedly demanded eggs and chicken from a complainant to register his plaint.
This incident came to the fore when the police department called up the complainant to get his feedback on the behavior and services rendered by the personnel in the police station to him, under the ‘Mo Sarkar Yojana’.
The call made to the complainant was recorded and strict directives including call-for notice were slapped on Jagdish Mahananda. He was asked to meet Bolangir Superintendent of Police for further proceedings.
According to reports, there was a tussle between two groups. The two parties filed as many cases in Saintala police station. Asish Sahu was one such complainant who got a phone call September 30.
Asish was asked if he was satisfied with the kind of treatment and service given at Saintala police station. He was also alerted that the recorded call will be presented before Chief Minister, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and SP for their perusal.
Giving his views, Titilagarh SDPO SN Satpathy said, “The police department is making random calls to people coming to different police stations for their various works.”
Notably, the ‘Mo Sarkar Yojana’ is an initiative under the 5T model of governance by the state government to herald transformation in government offices and make officials accountable to people.
