New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: In a big relief to Odisha people working in Surat, the Union Civil Aviation Ministry will start its direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Surat from January 2020.
While informing about the decision of the Union Ministry, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi expressed happiness over the approval of the ministry to commence direct flight operations between Bhubaneswar and Surat. Sarangi said the flight operations will start from January 1, 2020, three days a week. She also thanked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri for the approval.
“Today, I’m delighted that my request to Civil Aviation Ministry to commence a direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Surat is granted. Will start from January 1,2020 (three days a week). Our Odia friends in Surat were wanting this,” Sarangi wrote on her social media account.
Earlier, Aparajita Sarangi along with Surat MP Darshana Jardosh had met Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri July 22 and requested him to start direct flights between Bhubaneswar and Surat.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had earlier also urged the Centre for the flight between Surat and Bhubaneswar.
