Champua: A Kendriya Vidyala for people of Champua in Keonjhar will be realized soon as the survey of the central school has been completed, said tehsildar Alok Patel.
The government has asked the administration to initiate the process of setting up the school and provide land for it.
Then sub-collector Santosh Kumar Mishra made temporary arrangement of classrooms and office rooms for the school at Chandrasekhar Mahavidyalay.
Later, the tehsil administration identified a patch of land near Ramla for the school building. The 2.46 acres identified belongs to forest category. However, the land was converted to non-forest use.
There was a need for 8 acres of land for the school while 5.54 acres was not converted. Locals had been pressuring the administration for the conversion of the remaining land. The remaining land was later surveyed by ORSC.
Fund for the survey was deposited at the tehsil office. The tehsildar said Union Ministry of Forest and Environment will be approached for clearance to convert 5.54 acres of forest land.
