Khaira: Amid allegations of irregularities, Vigilance sleuths raided the block and tehsil offices here in Balasore district Saturday and checked various documents.
Vigilance SP Sunil Kumar has directed the officials to conduct raids in these offices following a high court order.
A team of officials comprising Vigilance DSP Santosh Kumar Samantray, inspector Annirudhha Nayak and Ajay Nayak checked records at the block and tehsil offices.
According to sources, Kailash Nayak and his wife Bandana Nayak of Sundira village had applied for a legal heir certificate at the Khaira tehsil office. But the tehsil did not issue a certificate.
The couple had to move the Orissa High Court in this regard.
The HC directed the Vigilance to check the records at the tehsil office. Some records have been seized.
The Vigilance had first raided the Khaira block office in connection with alleged irregularities in disbursal of housing units and pension funds.
An audit had been conducted into these schemes. The audit had detected that there was no record for Rs 30 lakh. Some records were also checked by Vigilance sleuths Saturday.
