Bhubaneswar, August 9: A total of 1,200 candidates appeared for the special Orissa Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) for admission into Master of Computer Application (MCA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) courses in the city Sunday.
OJEE chairman Tusarkant Nath said the exam passed off smoothly at all three centres set up for the test in the capital city. The results of the test will be announced August 11 and the counselling will begin simultaneously August 12 and 13.
“The paper was quite easy. I have given my best and hope to achieve a good rank in the examination, and get a seat at an institute of my choice in the state,” said Kamal Parida, a candidate who appeared for the exam at Unit-II Girls’ High School.
The examination was held in one sitting consisting of an hour from 11 am to 12 pm. Students were asked to report at the examination centre before one hour of the commencement of the examination.
“Some students reported a bit late. We allowed them to appear as missing this examination would result in a loss of one long year for students,” said an invigilator at Unit II Girls High School.
