Bhubaneswar, August 10: A man bitten by a snake was admitted to Capital Hospital Monday.
Gourang Charan Das (71), a snake-charmer and resident of Khitipur under Lingaraj police limits, was admitted to Capital hospital after being bitten by his snake while he was performing in the streets before spectators.
Capital Hospital Outpost police said Das was acting as Lord Shiva by wrapping the snake around his neck when the reptile stung into his head. Das’s condition was stable, however, he was under observation, the police sources said.
In another incident, victim Sabita Kandi (35), a native of Sarala in Konark, allegedly died after being bitten by a snake in the wee hours of Monday when she had woken up to drink water at her house.
