Bhubaneswar, August 13: Orissa tennis playerAdarsh Sahoo will become the first player from the state to have the chance to play in the American college tennis league.
Adarsh will leave for Chicago September 5 to join Prairie College which has awarded him a scholarship for two years. Along with his tennis ambition, Adarsh will also pursue his academic interests also.
After the scholarship period, Adarsh has plans to play for two more years in the NCAA Division-I. He credited his coach Farhan Ali for this development. “Because of Farhan sir’s guidance I have been able to become a better tennis player and get this scholarship,” Adarsh stated Thursday.
Footballer selected
Chandramohan Murmu of Cuttack SAI training centre has been selected in the All India SAI football squad for the National U-17 Subroto Cup football tournament. Chandramohan was selected on the basis of his performances at the recently-concluded SAI Zonal League at Ranchi. He represented the SAI East Zone team and the side emerged champions.
