Rourkela, August 16: Susobhit Das of Rourkela emerged champion of the Orissa State U-25 Chess Championships, which concluded here Sunday.
Susobhit bagged a total of seven points to take the top honours. Rahul Lamba of Sundargarh and Satopanth Gourav Nayak of Angul secured the second and third positions respectively. Both bagged 5.5 points each, but their standings were decided on better tie-break points.

Amrutanshu emerges champion
Amrutanshu Mohapatra of DAV School, Unit-VIII clinched the 29th Bhubaneswar Schools’ Chess Championships title, which concluded at Bhubaneswar, Sunday.
Amrutanshu took the pole position with eight points. Diptimayee Sahoo of Saraswati Sisu Vidyamandir stood second with seven points while Yashaswini Sarangi of DPS Kalinga finished third with 6.5 points.
