Bhubaneswar: A seven-member team led by Joint Secretary in Ministry of Home Affairs Shri Prakash arrived in Odisha Wednesday for assessment of damage caused by Cyclone Amphan.
The Central team is scheduled to visit four cyclone affected districts in separate groups in two days, according to official sources. One group will visit Balasore and another Kendrapara, Thursday. The two teams will commence damage assessment Friday by visiting Bhadrak and Jagatsinghpur districts.
The seven-member team will then hold a meeting with top State government officials including Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy before returning to New Delhi.
Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an interim relief of Rs 500 crore to Odisha May 24.
