Bhubaneswar, Sept 9: Riding on a five wicket haul by Debabrata Pradhan, Orissa thrashed Punjab by eight wickets in a Pool A match of the U-19 Dhruv Pandove Trophy cricket tournament at the Ropur Ground, Punjab, Wednesday.
Opting to bat first the hosts were bowled out for a paltry 70 runs in 33 overs as they could not face a fiery spell from Debabrata (5/18), who returned with a five wicket haul. Asutosh Das, Rajkishan Patel also bowled well to snare a scalp of two wickets each.

Seniors defeated
Despite a valiant ton by opener Natraj Behera, Orissa were beaten by MCA Secy XI on the basis of the first innings lead on the final day of a three-day match of the Bhausaheb Nimbalkar Trophy cricket tournament at the Pune Club Ground in Pune, Wednesday.
In reply to MCA’s first innings score of 306, Orissa were quite unfortunate to be bowled out for 302. Natraj Behera (187, 264b) hit a marathon century, but could not save his side from the blushes of defeat. J Khetare (5/70) and A Ansari (3/58) bowled a penetrative line to unsettle the Orissa batters. Natraj dominated the bowling alone, but could not get any able support from the other end.
Brief Scores: MCA 306 beat Orissa 302 all out (Natraj Behera 187; J Khetare 5/70) on the basis of first innings lead.
