Bhubaneswar: The state government, Monday, decided to train the candidates selected through Odisha Civil Services (OCS) Examination, 2018 in online mode in view of the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19 pandemic.
The decision was taken at a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Ait Tripathy here, Monday.
The Chief Secretary reviewed the preparedness and logistics for online training at several state-level training institutes like Gopabandhu Academy of Administration, Madhusudan Das Regional Academy of Financial Management, Biju Patnaik State Police Academy , Madhusudan Institute of Cooperative Management and Revenue Officers Training Institute (ROTI).
Tripathy asked the directors of all these institutes to jointly workout online teaching-learning-training contents along with evaluation modules. He further asked them to prepare the best content for effective motivation building and capacity enhancement of the new entrants to public service.
The meeting decided to start online training course August 4 this year after completion of the ongoing training for the previous batch.
Revenue and Disaster Management secretary Bishnupada Sethi said 60 candidates were selected for OAS, 61 for ORS, 15 for OPS, 31 for OT & AS, 6 for ARCS and 16 OES for the year 2018. They would be provided training in the academy and training institutes pertaining to the service against which they were selected, he said.
