Nabarangpur: As the Nabarangpur district administration observed that COVID-19 cases are on a rising trend in the district, it has declared another shutdown which will be imposed from August 25.
The shutdown will be in effect till August 26 11:59pm. The shutdown order has been issued by Nabarangpur District Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra Thursday.
Mishra said, “In view of the request of the district people on account of ‘Nuakhai’ festival, the district administration has relaxed the shutdown restriction Saturday and Sunday. However, due to the rising cases of COVID-19, we will enforce shutdown on August 25 and 26.”

Earlier, the Nabarangpur district administration had announced shutdown across the district for three days, starting August 15 to August 17.
“This shutdown will be helpful in carrying out intense contact tracing of the positive patients and swab collection for appropriate testing,” Mishra added.
It may be mentioned here that with 68 new positive cases reported Sunday, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the district has increased to 801. On the other hand, 322 patients are undergoing treatment in the COVID-19 hospitals while 476 patients have recovered from the disease. One patient in the district succumbed to COVID-19 and two died due to other illnesses.
