Bhubaneswar: Odisha Higher Education department has declared the date for conducting common PG entrance test for admission into various post-graduation courses in colleges and universities across Odisha for academic session 2020-21.
According to Higher Education Secretary Saswat Mishra, the common entrance tests for various subjects will be conducted from October 12 to 22.
The selection of candidates for admission into courses will be made on basis marks.
Higher Education department authorities have decided to allow candidates infected with COVID-19 for the examination.
“Special arrangements will be made for COVID-19 examinees to attend the entrance. They can appear in the examination in isolation rooms,” Mishra said.
This year total 62,000 students from various streams have applied for the common entrance test-2020 for total 14,700 PG seats. The department has arranged 26 centres across the state for conduction of the examination. The admission will be held in 83 streams this academic session.
Major universities of the state including Berhampur University, Sambalpur University and Utkal University have prepared question papers for the students. The question papers of subjects in Arts, Science and Commerce streams have been prepared by Berhampur University, Sambalpur University and Utkal University respectively.
The entrance examination results will be declared November 7. If the state government delays opening of colleges and universities amid COVID outbreak, the departments will arrange for online classes for the students, a source said.
