Cuttack: Even though the State government has allowed 200 guests for wedding functions, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) has not changed the limit on the number of guests allowed in marriage related gatherings.
CMC Commissioner Ananya Das Friday said, “Like before, a maximum of 100 persons will be allowed for marriage-related gatherings and 50 persons for funeral or last rites related events in the CMC areas.”
This order will be implemented with immediate effect, added Das.
CMC released the new order after the state government released its Unlock 7.0 guidelines.
Notably, apprehensive of a second COVID-19 wave during winter, the State government November 30 adopted a cautious approach by prohibiting large gatherings and congregations till December 31 under its Unlock 7 guidelines.
The State government continued with its earlier guidelines on weddings and funerals. Marriage related gatherings will be allowed with a ceiling of 200 persons. Funeral and last rites related gathering will be permitted with an upper limit of 50 persons.
