Jagatsinghpur /Berhampur: After a gap of almost ten months for COVID-19 restrictions, two famous goddess temples – Jhakanda Sarala Temple in Jagatsinghpur district and Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple in Berhampur of Ganjam district – reopened for public.
Sarala Temples reopened Sunday while Maa Budhi Thakurani Temple reopened Monday.
On the other hand other goddess temples like Samaleswari Temple in Sambalpur and Tara Tarini Temple in Ganjam were reopened Sunday.
The temples opened following strict COVID-19 protocols. The temple administrations have been maintaining strict rules like maintaining of physical distancing, use of mask and use of sanitisers.
However, the devotees will not be allowed enter the ‘garbha-griha’ (sanctum- sanctorum). The management has barred entry of devotees into the sanctum-sanctorum to maintain COVID-19 protocols.
Only ten people at a time can enter into the temple following the State government’s rule of not to overcrowd the temple premises.
Notably, major temples across Odisha opened gates for public Sunday giving people an opportunity to seek blessings from the almighty after several months.
