Jaipur , Jan 4: Rajasthan government has cancelled the mutation of about 374.44 hectares of land, a part of which was said to be owned by Robert Vadra’s company, in Bikaner’s Kolayat region.
The state government has cancelled 18 mutations (transfer of ownership) found to be “illegal in private persons’ name”, SDM Ran Singh told PTI over phone today.
“On December 31, the SDM court in Kolayat took up multiple complaints filed by Kolayat Tehsildar on 18 false mutation cases and cancelled these mutation as the land was found to be wrongfully alloted to private persons in last few years,” the SDM said.
“The mutation cases were not issued by the Commissioner Colonisation situated in Bikaner and were found to be illegally possessed by private persons, and hence cancelled,” Singh said.
Asked if any of the land cancelled by SDM belonged to a company owned by Robert Vadra, the son-in-law of Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Singh refused to comment saying, “we do not know about this, as nothing of any company or name mentioned in the cases were put before the SDM court by the Kolayat Tehsildar”.
Meanwhile, Tehsildar Gajendra Singh also denied to comment on the identity of land owners.
Tehsildar Singh, however, said it was to be investigated who were the said owners and whom they further sold the land on which they did the illegal mutation.
According to Bikaner administration sources, the 374.44 hectares of land was illegally allotted or possessed in 2006-7 by some villagers, who were “wrongfully” shown as farmers displaced by Mahajan Field Firing Range of the Army.
The farmers who were actually displaced were allotted land between 1992 and 1996, the sources said.
Bikaner Collector Arti Dogra was not available for comments in spite of repeated calls.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today described the Rajasthan government’s move of seizing about 374.44 hectares of land, a part of which reportedly belonged to businessman Robert Vadra, as a “victory of law” and hinted at more such actions in the days to come.
The state government has taken back possession of about 374.44 hectares land in Bikaner’s Kolayat region after cancelling 18-mutations (transfer of ownership) found to be “illegal in private persons’ name”.
“We have said this from the start that people who are guilty, whether it is the matter of land acquisition or any other, law will definitely do its work,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said here.
He said,”this question has been asked from us time and again in Rajasthan that what is the action you are taking against Robert Vadra’s company.”
“The reports of the investigation had been submitted and the government has taken action on that. I feel that it is a victory for law and time will tell about the future activities,” the BJP leader said.
However, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) said that the Rajasthan government’s action is not “an action against Vadra” as no FIR has been registered against him.
“I am surprised that for the last one year the Rajasthan government is probing and so far they have only been able to cancel a 300-acre land deal,” Manish Sisodia said.
“Was no FIR is registered against the man who did this? Are you taking criminal action against that man or not?” he asked.
Taking a potshot at the BJP, Sisodia said, “Is it a criminal offence in your eyes or not, or you just want to cancel land deal and bother the big family.
“How can a common businessman is becoming a billionaire without investing any assets, we have taken out all these facts. All these things should be investigated but it is not being done. They have just cancelled the land which is not an action against Vadra.” PTI
