According to sources, over 40,000 trade associations representing nearly eight crore traders of the country have extended their support to the call. All state level-transport associations have also extended their support for the Bandh in protest against fuel price hike.
The CAIT will cease booking and transportation of all e-Way Bill based goods. Transport companies have been asked to halt movement of their vehicles between 6.00am to 8.00pm as a token of protest.
Notably, transporters across the country have been using the recent amendment in GST laws. The amended GST law has halved the validity of e-Way Bill from 100km per day to 200km per day.
