Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 6,118 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 8,19,214. The active caseload in the state now stands at 76,750. Out of the 6,118 new infections, 3,453 were reported from quarantine centres while 2,665 persons contracted the virus locally.
Odisha reported 41 fresh fatalities as of Sunday taking total tally in the state to 3,035 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Monday morning.
Khurda alone reported the highest number of deaths (six including three from Bhubaneswar); followed by Sundargarh (four); Ganjam and Puri districts (three each); Bargarh, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Mayurbhanj, Subarnapur and Sambalpur districts (two each); Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Keonjhar, Kendrapara and Nayagarh districts (one each).
Cuttack district registered the highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 640 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Jajpur with 563 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Khurda (495), Angul (416), Puri (398), Mayurbhanj (352), Sundargarh (272), Bhadrak (228), Kendrapara (227), Jagatsinghpur (218), Balasore (195), Koraput (180), Nabarangpur (166), Bargarh (164), Nayagarh (161), Keonjhar (155), Kandhamal (143), Dhenkanal (123), Boudh (112), Rayagada (108), Malkangiri (107), Sambalpur (103), Ganjam (93), Jharsuguda (86), Bolangir (83), Kalahandi (80), Subarnapur (52), Nuapada (36), Gajapati (30) and Deogarh (29).
The State Pool reported 103 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,22,50,294 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of new recoveries stands at 7,358.
