Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 1,930 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 9,43,675. The active caseload in the state now stands at 23,492. Out of the 1,930 new infections, 1, 117 were reported from quarantine centres while 813 persons contracted the virus locally.
Odisha reported 68 new fatalities highest reported in a single day, taking total tally in the state to 4,730.
Khurda district registered the highest number of new Covid-19 cases with 431 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 220 new infections.
Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Angul (50), Balasore (134), Bargarh (12), Bhadrak (98), Bolangir (1), Boudh (3), Deogarh (8), Dhenkanal (62), Gajapati (4), Ganjam (17), Jagatsinghpur (75), Jajpur (125), Jharsuguda (16), Kalahandi (7), Kandhamal (27), Kendrapara (123), Keonjhar (48), Koraput (14), Malkangiri (28), Mayurbhanj (98), Nabarangpur (5), Nayagarh (58), Nuapada (2), Puri (27), Rayagada (38), Sambalpur (25), Subarnapur (5) and Sundargarh (94).
The State Pool reported 75 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,47,03,651swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of new recoveries stands at 2,937.
