Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 1,132 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally in the state to 9,93,507. The active caseload in the state now stands at 10,632. Out of the 1,132 new infections, 657 were reported from quarantine centres while 475 persons contracted the virus locally. The state had registered 1,193 cases of coronavirus infections Friday.
Odisha also reported 66 new fatalities in the last 24 hours taking total tally in the state to 6,823 as per a tweet of Health and Family Welfare department posted Saturday morning. The state had reported 60 Covid-19 fatalities Friday.
Cuttack reported highest 15 deaths. It was followed by Nayagarh (12), Kendrapara (nine), Angul (five), Nabarangpur (four), Jajpur, Khurda and Sambalpur districts (three each), Balasore, Bargarh, Bolangir, Jagatsinghpur and Puri districts (two each) and Koraput and Mayurbhanj districts (one each).
Khurda district registered the highest number of new cases with 410 persons testing positive for the disease. It was followed by Cuttack with 197 new infections.

Other districts that reported fresh Covid-19 cases are: Balasore (70), Jagatsinghpur (42), Mayurbhanj (40), Nayagarh (31), Jajpur (29), Kendrapara (27), Angul (25), Sundargarh (23), Puri (22), Keonjhar and Sambalpur (15 each), Bhadrak (14), Dhenkanal (11), Bargarh and Malkangiri (10 each), Bolangir, Kalahandi and Rayagada (seven each), Gajapati (six), Boudh, Deogarh and Kandhamal (four each), Koraput (three), Ganjam (two) and Jharsuguda, Nabarangpur and Subarnapur (one each).
The State Pool reported 94 new cases. These are persons who have come from outside Odisha and have tested positive.
A total of 1,69,57,359 swab samples have been cumulatively tested so far. The number of recoveries in the last 24 hours stands at 1,243.
