Rayagada: A group of Maoists allegedly gunned down a Grama Rakhi Tuesday night at Tikarpada village under Ambadala police limits in Rayagada district, suspecting him to be a police informer.
The deceased was identified as Santosh Dandasena.
According to a source, more than 10 Maoists armed with weapons arrived at the village and dragged Santosh out of his house. Later, the ultras gunned him down on the village road and left the spot soon after committing the crime.
The Maoists were members of the Bansadhara-Ghumusar-Nagabali (BGN) divisional committee, the source informed.

The Maoists left two handwritten notes at the crime spot.
“Santosh was killed by the outlawed CPI(M) faction for he was working as a police informer and despite several warnings given earlier, Santosh continued with the work,” the handwritten notes stated.
On being informed by some villagers, Ambadala police reached the spot and registered a case. A probe was launched and the body of the deceased was sent for postmortem.
